The position is responsible to effectively manage the recruiting needs of the Company. This has several impacts on the business:

  • Ensure the hiring of quality candidates for the vacant positions on a timely basis.
  • Ensure hiring process is completed in advance while monitoring future needs with the turnaround time for an onboarded employee (clearance delays, training schedules, etc.)
  • Develop a positive working relationship with the GTAA and the Pass Permit office while coordinating all paperwork/vetted applications
  • Ensure a complete hiring process from setting up and conducting interviews to the onboarding of the employee to Training including personnel file completeness (except for SCard and Basic Training )
  • To liaise with Operation Managers and Resource Planning on staffing levels
  • To liaise with employees on expectations, job description, and other information pertinent to the position they're applying
  • Provide necessary follow-up with all parties (employees and management)
  • Ensure employees waiting for clearance are kept in contact to prevent them from becoming disinterested due to the long turnaround time
  • Complete investigations related to hiring practices and ensure corrective actions are communicated, implemented and sustained
  • Ensure compliance with all safety standards and regulations at work locations



Job Knowledge

  • Knowledgeable of the contents of the General Orders. 
  • Knowledgeable of the contents of Post Orders and Duty Briefings for all client posts;
  • Knowledgeable of the Collective Bargaining Agreement
  • Knowledgeable of all Legal Authorities pertaining to duties.
  • Knowledgeable of the Private Investigators and Security Guards Act. Including all applicable regulations and guidelines pertaining to working as a Security Guard in the Province of Ontario.

Intimate Knowledge

  • Airport Restricted Area Identification Card Program and applications
  • G.T.A.A. Rules and Regulations;

Airside Vehicle Operators Permit Program training requirements;


  • 2-4 years of recruiting experience with a minimum of 2 years in physical security recruitment an asset.
  • Post-secondary education is preferred
  • Knowledge of Employment Law
  • Strong sourcing and online social media recruitment skills
  • Solid background in behavioural based interviewing assessment techniques.
  • Ability to recruit for a high volume of positions for all branches across Canada.
  • Excellent communication, polished presentation, organizational and prioritizing skills.
  • Excellent technical/computer skills in MS Word and Excel is required, along with recruiting software/online tools.
  • A valid G class driver's license with own vehicle
  • Flexibility - a willingness to travel and work irregular hours
  • Willing to travel between Burlington and Pearson Airport mandatory


  • Establishes recruiting requirements by studying organization plans and objectives; meeting with managers to discuss needs.
  • Builds applicant sources by researching and contacting community services, colleges, employment agencies, recruiters, media, and internet sites; providing organization information, opportunities, and benefits; making presentations; maintaining rapport.
  • Setup, book and execute various Job Fairs around the GTA
  • Develop a social media following for ASP Incorporated
  • Determines applicant requirements by studying job description and job qualifications.
  • Attracts applicants by placing job advertisements; contacting recruiters, using newsgroups and job sites, cold calling potential applicants.
  • Determines applicant qualifications by interviewing applicants; analyzing responses; verifying references; comparing qualifications to job requirements.
  • Evaluates applicants by discussing job requirements and applicant qualifications with managers; interviewing applicants on consistent set of qualifications.
  • Improves organization attractiveness by recommending new policies and practices; monitoring job offers and compensation practices; emphasizing benefits and perks.
  • Developing KPI's for Senior Management
  • Signing authority duties including but not limited to parking passes, RAIC and Scard renewals, AVOP paperwork, and Transport Canada sign-offs.
  • Avoids legal challenges by understanding current legislation; enforcing regulations with managers; recommending new procedures; conducting training.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
