Develops, coordinates, implements and ensures the smooth and effective execution and functioning of training programs, events, schedules and activities. The Training Coordinator will be responsible for developing and/or arranging with external service providers a high-quality Training Program which meets all GTAA specified training requirements.


  • Conduct specific training needs assessment and identify contractual/mandatory training requirements as well as competency (skills or knowledge) gaps that need to be addressed
  • Map out training plans, design and develop training programs (outsourced or in-house)
  • Liaise with subject matter experts regarding curriculum design, course content and delivery methodology
  • Maintain updated curriculum database and training records
  • Develop training aids such as manuals and handbooks
  • Map out training programs/schedules for each individual employee
  • Present training programs using recognized training techniques and tools
  • Facilitate learning through a variety of delivery methods including classroom instruction, virtual training, on-the-job training and coaching
  • Development, implementation and tracking of Daily/Weekly on-the-job training modules for delivery to employees by supervisors on mobile devices that focus specifically on current airport/events or daily/weekly operational awareness items to ensure our employees our continuously updated and trained on new initiatives or customer service initiatives
  • Design and apply assessment tools to measure training effectiveness
  • Assess instructional effectiveness and summarize evaluation reports determining the impact of training on employee skills and how it affects Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
  • Track and report on training outcomes and maintain employee training records/reports
  • Handle logistics for training activities including venues, materials and equipment
  • Manage training budget


Education and Experience

  • Post-Secondary Certificate, Diploma or Degree in an HR, Training/Educational field or equivalent work-related experience
  • Proven experience in a Training role experienced in team facilitation, instruction or training
  • Experience with various training methods, including on-the-job coaching, mentoring programs, and e-learning
  • Hands-on experience coordinating multiple training events in an operational setting


  • Able to obtain and maintain a valid Transportation Security Clearance and Toronto Pearson Airport Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC)
  • Possess a valid Ontario Provincial Drivers Licence
  • Knowledge of learning management systems and web delivery tools
  • Knowledge of adult instructional learning/design theory and principles
  • Proven ability to complete the full training cycle (needs assessment, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate)
