POSITION:

COMMERCIAL OPERATIONS MANAGER

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Regional Manager Residential/Commercial Divisions, the Commercial Operations Manager will provide effective coordination of supervision, support, and back up to all contract locations. The Commercial Operations Manager maintains and ensures adherence to company policies and procedures. This position includes administrative support functions as required to facilitate the position. This individual assists in the development of new business and maintenance of contracts.  The Commercial Operations Manager maintains proactive and regular contact with client designate and provides other services as necessary.

 

DUTIES

 

  • Acts as the day to day client contact while working closely with the Regional Manager
  • Monitor and enforce all designated operational procedures and regulations
  • Ensures Post orders and Duty Briefings are current and up to date
  • Prepares Non-Conformance Reports for all incidents, complaints or deficiencies discovered that affect the delivery of service to our clients
  • Maintains an open line of communication with clients to help ensure the delivery of quality services.
  • Ensures the accurate preparation of Incident Summary Reports, weekly, and monthly
  • Ensures the accurate preparation of Post Orders, General Instructions, Memos, Guidelines, and General information packages as required for all posts
  • Assists in the planning and implementation of new contracts
  • Assists in the Hiring and screening of new employees, including conducting interviews
  • Ensures appropriate staffing levels are available at all times
  • Coordinate and conduct employee evaluations using unbiased judgement and an objective manner
  • Ensures all posts are covered in accordance with our contractual obligations
  • Ensures training schedules and employee training is maintained and effectively executed
  • Uses proper and acceptable methods in monitoring all Guards and Supervisors, while remaining within the guidelines of the General Orders
  • Ensures all posts are inspected on a regular basis to ensure conformance to company policies and procedures
  • Ensures and assists in maintaining effective control and scheduling of maintenance for all issued equipment, including that issued to each Supervisor. This includes company motor vehicles
  • Ensures the following reports are submitted in a timely fashion:
    • Incident Reports
    • Lost Item(s)/Damage reports
    • Suspensions/Termination/Resignations Report and summary
    • Inventory Report
    • Supervisors Daily Shift Log
    • Training Report
  • Enforces all rules, policies and procedures in a fair and impartial manner
  • Communicates instructions from Head Office to all field staff
  • Assists in the maintenance of the Quality System and participates in all reviews and meetings associated with the ISO 9001 QPM and QSP manuals including internal audits. Makes recommendations for improvement that will increase the effectiveness of benefit the service delivery to our clients
  • Performs on call duties
  • Other duties as required by the company
  • Ensures new initiatives are reviewed and approved prior to Implementation

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

  • Business management degree from a reputable College/University preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years experience within the security industry
  • Minimum of 5 years employment within a management position in the Security Industry
  • Must have experience managing multiple clients at critical infrastructures

Qualifications

Candidates applying for this position must be:

  • A Canadian Citizen or Landed Immigrant
  • Must have valid security license in the province of Ontario
  • Must be Bondable
  • Must have a full Ontario Drivers license with no restrictions
  • Must have and maintain a clean drivers abstract
  • Above average verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Must complete company Quality Assurance program orientation
  • Must complete on site orientation at all active posts and familiarize themselves with site-specific requirements and post orders
  • Must have or obtain the Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Physical Security Professional (PSP) designation within 18 months of start of employment
  • Must be able to work all shifts, including nights and rotations

Skills, Abilities and Personal Suitability

  • Has knowledge and ability to use PC based incident reporting and scheduling systems
  • Has knowledge and ability to use CCTV equipment; access systems and PC controlled security systems
  • Has conflict resolution skills and is able to use them effectively
  • Demonstrates good judgement in the performance of all duties
  • Has the ability to make decisions under pressure
  • Displays versatility in dealings with clients, tenants and the public
  • Demonstrates a high level of Honesty and Integrity in all aspects of job performance
  • Exhibits a professional, courteous manner at all times
