Human Resources Administrator – Burlington




To effectively manage all aspects of the A.S.P. airport Security operation's human resources administrative and recruitment needs.   To act as a first point of contact for all A.S.P airport employees regarding HR related matters and to ensure smooth communication and prompt resolution of all queries.  To ensure all employee information is updated in the scheduling and payroll system and maintain up to date personnel files and records.  To support the National Recruiter in any A.S.P airport security hiring needs, including full cycle recruitment and onboarding.  To ensure proper execution of procedure and compliance relating to all required documentation and collective agreement provisions.  


Job Knowledge

• Knowledgeable of the contents of the General Orders and the guidelines contained therein

• Knowledgeable of government statutory reporting including WSIB and related statutes

• Knowledgeable of all Legal Authorities pertaining to duties.

• Knowledgeable of the Collective Bargaining Agreement

• Knowledgeable of Human Resources processes and policies

• Knowledgeable of Federal and Provincial labour laws

• General knowledge on maintenance of company growth and profit objectives

• Knowledgeable of company ISO 9001 QPM and QSP Manuals and associated forms


Public Relations

• Able to interact effectively with all A.S.P. Incorporated and affiliate employees

• Able to interact effectively with all site client representatives and management

• Able to interact effectively with all co-workers and A.S.P. Incorporated management

• Able to interact effectively with public officials, including emergency services personnel



• 3-5 years of Human Resources administrative and recruitment experience

• Union experience is preferred

• Computer literacy is required, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet Explorer and MS 

        Outlook email

• Must be able to operate windows based computer systems.

• Must have proficient typing skills

• Must have excellent customer service skills

• Demonstrated ability to handle difficult callers, stressful situations and multiple tasks in a professional, 

        positive and constructive manner

• Has conflict resolution skills and is able to use them effectively

• Demonstrates good judgment in the performance of all duties

• Displays versatility in dealings with clients and the public



• Perform general human resources administration tasks for all human resources related processes, activities 

        and initiatives for A.S.P. airport operations

• Serve as point of contact for all HR related queries concerning benefits, policies and collective agreement 


• Support management in the areas of attendance management, discipline tracking, training record keeping 

        scheduling system, and other tasks as requested.

• Perform filing, and ensure all personnel files contain all required documentation and are up to date and 

        compliant with regulatory and customer requirements.

• Support the National Recruiter in all stages of the recruitment process, including advertising and posting for 

        vacancies, sourcing and screening candidates by conducting telephone and in-person interviews, reference 

        checking and preparing and executing employment offers

• Participate in and provide support during company hiring events, on and off-site.

• Responsible for all aspects of licensing, including renewals and terminations in accordance with Ministry 


• Manage the onboarding process to ensure A.S.P. airport employees are equipped with their uniforms, job 

        specific tools, resources, access cards and PPE

• Assist new and current employees with forms completion as required

• Restricted Access clearance management; guiding candidates and employees through process of obtaining 

        clearance and maintaining database of clearances to ensure expirations are proactively managed

• Maintains an up to date database for all Human Resources related information by ensuring accuracy of 

        scheduling database, review dates, start dates and pay rates

• Control and administration of first aid and CPR Courses in conjunction with the National Employee 

        Development Manager

• Assists all aspects of Health & Safety as it relates to employees

• Ensures ISO 9001: 2008 procedures are followed

• Performs a reasonable amount of overtime as required

• Ensures queries are responded to from

• Maintains an excellent knowledge of the Collective Bargaining Agreement for unionized operations and 

        ensures that scheduling is done in accordance with the provisions contained therein

• Ensures office area is kept clean, neat and professional in appearance

• Other duties as may be required from time to time

• Must be 21 years of age or older.

• Must be Bondable

• Must have Ontario Drivers License with no restrictions

• Degree/Diploma from a recognized University/College

• Strong organizational and administrative skills

• Must have clean drivers abstract

• Minimum of 2 years employment with A.S.P. incorporated and/or one of the following requirements;

a) Previous Security Supervisory experience

b) Sufficient prior industry related experience (i.e. Police, Military, and Security)

c) Formal law enforcement training or Diploma

• Must complete company Quality Assurance program orientation

• Should be trained in First Aid & CPR and updated every two years

• Must be able to deal with difficult persons on a regular basis

• Must be able to work overtime



• Reports directly to the Human Resources Manager

• Works in conjunction and with the other Human Resources Administrators and Recruiters
